Assisted living, nursing home, and in-home care figures are medians from the CareScout Cost of Care Survey 2025, conducted July through November 2025 among long-term care providers across 387 U.S. metropolitan statistical areas. Assisted living medians are as-reported monthly rates for a private one-bedroom; California reports the category as a residential care facility. In-home figures use the survey's non-medical caregiver series, and its monthly figure assumes the survey basis of 44 hours of care per week. The survey publishes United States and state medians; it does not publish a District of Columbia table, so the tool offers the 50 states and the national median.
